Cootapatamba | Crackenback

Cootapatamba is a large chalet on an elevated position that offers spectacular views directly down the Main Range towards Thredbo.     

Set across the entire lower floor, this classic chalet has ample room for a family or group of friends and is designed to ensure a comfortable stay.  

This large, classically styled chalet has a full kitchen with granite benchtops, European appliances and a gas cooktop. The kitchen interconnects with the main living space, where there’s a large comfortable lounge, separate sitting area, and solid wood dining table for eight. 

The living space has full length glass doors that bring the outside in and open onto an undercover outdoor patio with superb views.  The patio further connects to a large grassy area to enjoy. 

It’s a comfortable and beautifully appointed property, with gas heating as well as an open fire and a private sauna to ease any aches and pains. 

The main bathroom has a jetted bathtub and separate toilet. There is also a large drying room to dry and store your gear and have it ready for the next day. 

Entertainment options include a large television with Apple TV, Satellite TV, Bluetooth music streaming, and a DVD player.

Other features include free Wi-Fi, double glazing, central heating, a full laundry with sink, washing machine and dryer and a large gas BBQ. 

There is also a single lock-up garage and an additional parking spot directly outside the property.

The name Cootapatamba, meaning ‘The icy waters where the eagle swoops to drink’, is taken from Australia’s highest lake at 2,042 metres above sea level and located around 800 metres south of Mount Kosciuszko.  The lake was formed by glacial movements around 20,000 years ago and is usually frozen between June and September.

Cootapatamba is situated on the lower floor below another property called 'Narrawallee'. The two properties can be connected via an internal door at the entryway, making it a four bedroom + loft chalet. This is a perfect arrangement for two families or larger groups, offering privacy and functionality.

Cootapatamba is moments away from the Perisher Ski-tube which takes you directly to Perisher Ski fields. 

It is a 15-minute drive to Thredbo Resort and is only a quick drive to many popular local attractions including the Wild Brumby Distillery, Crackenback Farmhouse and the Pender Lea Horse Riding facility.

Mountain Bikers are spoilt for choice with direct access to the famous Thredbo Valley Track – a fantastic 35km single-track ride from Thredbo to the Gaden Trout Hatchery.
